KOI TYPE

Kohaku

kohaku is white koi fish with red pattern (hi). Quality of Kohaku determined by white colour, white colour have to really snow-white while red colour have to squeeze bold and condensed. Degradation of Colour between red and white (Kiwa) must be clear.

Tancho Kohaku is white koi fish with red pattern in form of circle of its head.

Inazuma Kohaku iswhite koi fish with red pattern from back part head up to tail. Red pattern to look like thunder. Inazuma mean lightning strike.

Nidan Kohaku is white koi fish by 2 red pattern in its back.

Sandan Kohaku is white koi fish by 3 red pattern in its back.

Yondan Kohaku is white koi fish by 4 red pattern in its back.

Taisho Sanshoku

This koi fish have other name of Taisho Sanke or Sanke. Sanke is white koi fish having red pattern (hi) and black pattern (sumi). Head Sanke do not have own Sumi. Hi there are in back and head, while sumi there are just in back.

Maruten Sanke have red pattern separate above head.

Tancho Sanke have red pattern in its head and black pattern in its back.

sanke don't have sumi in its head.


Showa sanshoku (known as showa)
Showa is black koi fish with red pattern and white pattern.

Hi showa is showa with red pattern more dominant than white pattern.

Kindai showa is showa with white pattern more dominan than red pattern.

Tancho showa has a red spot on the head and a black body with white pattern.

Bekko
Bekko are yellow, white or red koi fish with black (sumi) markings. There are three type of bekko.

Ki bekko is a yellow koi fish with black pattern.

Shiro bekko is a white koi fish with black markings. It’s like taisho sanke without red pattern.

Aka bekko is a red koi fish with black pattern.
